Continuing the Ireland’s Abortion Journey series, Pat Kenny spoke to Vanessa O’Sullivan today, a woman who faced the heartbreaking trial of travelling to England for an abortion following being raped by a close friend.
Telling no one she travelled to a clinic where doctors performed the procedure. While there she met several other Irish women who had also travelled.
“Because of the betrayal I had suffered - the idea of having a baby from such a traumatic experience was just not an option for me,” Vanessa said.
She spoke with Pat about her initial denial following the rape and her experience of travelling to Britain for an abortion.
