Kari Rosvall is an Irish citizen. She has traveled a long way to be here.

She was born in 1944 in Norway as part of a Nazi breeding programme designed by Heinrich Himmler.

Lebensborn, “the spring of life” programme, was a sinister project which allowed Nazi soldiers to have children with Scandinavian women in order to create an Aryan race that would lead a fascist Europe into the future.

Kari Rosvall was one of the Lebensborn children. She was taken from her mother when she was just ten days old, packed in a crate, and sent to Germany.

When the war ended in 1945, everything changed. The children who were to be “the elite” were now outcasts in every country. They too became victims of the Nazi regime.

Today on the Pat Kenny show we hear Kari’s story, as she speaks to reporter Naomi Linehan.

In her search for answers Kari goes to meet her birth mother in Oslo.

Who was her father? Was her mother a willing participant in the Lebensborn programme or was she coerced? Would Kari ever find out the truth about her past?

Have a listen…
