Abbey, a five-year-old girl living in Cork, is looking to fund raise €100,000 for a life-changing surgery which will enable her to walk.
Abbey was born in 2007 with hydrocephalus, a condition in which there is an abnormal build up of fluid in the brain.
In 2009 she was further diagnosed with epilepsy and spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which left her wheelchair-bound.
After an initial surgery Abbey could now be a candidate for an operation in America which will allow her to walk, but it will cost up to €100,000 including the surgery itself and physio before and after the operation.
Abbey will need to have it done before the age of seven in order for it to work.
