The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has been urged to call the developer of a Dublin apartment complex, and urge him to cover the costs of emergency remedial work.
Dublin Fire Brigade is set to seek the evacuation of the apartment complex unless €4m for works is secured by tomorrow.
In the Dáil, Sinn Féin's Mary Lou McDonald called on Mr Kenny to make a direct appeal to developer Bernard McNamara for help.
But the Taoiseach stopped short and said he would need further information.
The repairs are necessary to address deficiencies in the complex at Sir John Rogerson's Quay.
At a meeting last night, owners were told they have until the end of the day to come up with €4m for urgent work.
Richard Eardley is a member of the management team and also owns one of the 299 units.
Earlier, he told the Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk the total bill for the works will come to millions - but he told he was hopeful owners will not have to pay it all.
