A star of Love/Hate says the episode last week would be the right way to end it if writer Stuart Carolan made that decision.
Laurence Kinlan - who is now starring in the Ross O'Carroll-Kelly play 'Breaking Dad' - has played Elmo in the show, which ended its fifth series just over a week ago.
There has been much speculation about its future - and RTÉ says a sixth series is in development, but we will not get to see it next year.

The head of drama with the broadcaster, Jane Gogan, said: "RTÉ can confirm that Love/Hate will not return to screens in 2015. A sixth series is currently in development with the writer and creator Stuart Carolan and Octagon Films."
The spokesperson added, "The producers and Stuart feel it's important to take time and reflect before going to production with a sixth season."
More than one million people are said to have tuned in to see the season finale.
Laurence told Shane Coleman on the Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk he thinks it would be OK for the drama to end on the 'incredible' episode from last week.
