The Transport Minister's come out in defence of his cabinet colleague James Reilly, as new details emerge about the HSE's budget overrun.
The Health Minister told the Dáil this morning that the executive overspent its budget by €158 million in the first five months of 2014, and the Taoiseach told the house there will be a need for a bailout.
James Reilly has been at the centre of intense speculation that he could be moved or dropped from the Cabinet in the upcoming reshuffle.
Leo Varadkar has been mentioned as a possible successor, but he told Newstalk's Pat Kenny show he is not interested in discussing that at this stage, adding that health is not the only area of government he is interested in:
The Transport Minister says Dr. Reilly has brought about big changes with reduced staff and budgets, but has not been dealt a 'good set of cards'.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to implement a Cabinet reshuffle during the summer.
