Mobile World Congress officially kicks off in Barcelona tomorrow, but two key events take place today. Both HTC and Samsung will unveil their new flagship devices this afternoon at separate media events.
There has been an endless stream of leaks and rumours surrounding both events with forums all claiming to have the full spec rundown of the new devices.
It is thought HTC will launch a new phone called the One M9, following on from the very successful One M8 which was launched last year. The "M9" is rumoured to have an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB or RAM. It is thought to have a 2,840 mAh battery life and come loaded with Dolby 5.1 audio technology. The camera on the M8 was stunning and it looks likely that the M9 will follow suit. It looks as though the new device will have a 20 MP camera on board.
We will be live tweeting the HTC announcement from Barcelona today at 2.45 Irish time. You can follow that stream here.
As mentioned, Samsung will also host an event today and it's expected they will unveil the Samsung Galaxy S6. A media invite sent out a few weeks ago featured a slightly curved device, fueling rumours that the tech giants will also released a S6 Edge device.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was released in Ireland back in December and while it did catch the eye, it didn't quite cause the frenzy one would have thought.
