Larry Murphy has told a newspaper he is 'sorry' for an attack on a young woman which saw him spend 10 years in prison.
Murphy (now 49) is originally from County Wicklow. He was jailed for the abduction, rape and attempted murder of a young woman in the year 2000.
He was released from jail in August 2010, after serving 10 years of a 15-year sentence for the attack in the Wicklow Mountains.
A reporter with The Irish Sun approached him in south London yesterday.
It is understood he has been living in the British capital since March last year.
Jack Royston has described his encounter with Larry Murphy to The Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk.
