Retired American football player, sports broadcaster and actor, O.J. Simpson, was accused of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in a lengthy and internationally publicised criminal trial during 1994-1995.
The trial amounted to an 11-month saga of soap opera proportions, regularly descending into farce despite the gravity of the charges.
