The coach of a Cork football team is insisting he made the right decision in refusing to play on after one of his players was subjected to racial abuse.
Carrigaline United was fined €200 for the move, during a recent Cork Schoolboys League match.
Mark McCarthy says the player came to him at half time, upset over comments that had been made to him.
It is the second time it has happened this season, and following a discussion with the referee, he opted to take the team off the pitch.
