In June this year, an Irish man in his mid 20s died after taking a diet pill known as DNP. The industrial chemical has become popular in recent years with bodybuilders and others seeking to lose weight.

While it has been linked to over 60 deaths worldwide, this was the first case in Ireland.

We want to know, would you buy drugs online?

In the wake of that tragedy, Newstalk Breakfast decided to find out how easy it is to buy DNP online and have it delivered to Ireland.

A simple internet search and a few days later, DNP arrived at the Newstalk studio. Not only that, anabolic steroids, sedatives and erectile dysfunction drugs were also found and purchased with relative ease. This is despite the fact that buying these drugs online is illegal.

At no stage was anyone in Newstalk contacted by Revenue or the Health Products Regulatory Authority.
