Richard Linklater’s Boyhood was among the top winners at the 20th annual Critics Choice Movie Awards. It received six Oscar nominations, including the coveted 'Best Picture' and won Golden Globes for best film drama, best director and best supporting female for Patricia Arquette.

Linklater’s original coming-of-age production was filmed from 2002 to 2013, with the same cast members performing their roles each year.

The male lead who aged from 7 to 18 years old during filming, Ellar Coltrane, joined us on The Picture Show to discuss what it was like to spend most of his childhood and adolescence on such an unusual project.
