This week on the Picture Show we speak to two directors who were nominated for Oscars this week. We speak to Alejandro González Iñárritu, who got the nod for the much talked about The Revenant, which cleaned up the nominations with a total of 12. We also have an interview with Adam McKay, who made his name with the Will Ferrell comedy vehicles Anchorman and Step Brothers, whose The Big Short is up for Best Picture as well.
It’s a directors’ show this week, as we also speak to Ryan Coogler, who wasn’t nominated for his addition to the Rocky Series ‘Creed’ but many feel he should have been. The 29-year-old Californian has, however, been confirmed as the director of Black Panther, a forthcoming instalment of the behemoth Marvel Cinematic Universe.
