Philip Molloy caught up with Colin Farrell to talk about a number of topics, including what his view of the most recent series of True Detective was.
With the runaway success of the first series, the follow up was always going to be a very difficult task, and here Farrell talks about how he feels the final project turned out.
The critical and public reception to the follow up was much more varied than for the debut season, and while Farrell admits that his own involvement skews his opinion, he still loved the character and everything about his time on the show.
"It's always been very hard to remove myself from the process of making something and arrive at a point of objectivity...I'm not trying to get out of an answer by saying that, it really has, it's very hard for me to have any clear objectivity. Unless something is extremely unusual like this [The Lobster], I have a soft spot in my heart for this film. But as long as I'm in it it's kind of a bit ruined for me".
He also spent time talking about his new movie The Lobster, and how it's different to anything that he's done before in the past.
