Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will return for a third season on Netflix next month, with the effervescent Ellie Kemper back as the former bunker prisoner now plotting her next major life move.
“After high school, most white girls go to the college,” offers her eccentric landlady Lillian, played by Carol Kane, kickstarting Kimmy’s road to higher learning.
The critically acclaimed sitcom, which has been nominated for 11 Emmys, will also see Jon Hamm back as the Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, the former cult leader who imprisoned Kimmy for years, revealed to be her legal husband in the last season.
Other guest stars this season include Laura Dern, Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, and Ray Liotta, with Jane Krakowsky back as Jacqueline.
But the all of the limelight in the trailer is stolen by Tituss Burgess as Titus Andromedon, Kimmy’s flatmate and would-be Broadway star. Suspicious that his boyfriend is cheating on him, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt heavily takes from the Hold Up video from Beyoncé’s album Lemonade.
All 13 episodes of the show’s third season go live on May 19th, and you can watch the trailer in full below:
