Pity the poor producers of HBO’s Veep, the brilliantly funny satirical comedy that now somehow needs to one up the bizarro White House currently calling the shots across the pond. But as this teaser for the forthcoming season shows, Selina Meyer has lost none of her tenacity, despite losing the presidency.
Taking place in the aftermath of her having left the Oval Office following the fifth season’s extended electoral confusion, the next run of the Armando Iannucci-created comedy sees the former president forging a new path.
“Being an ex-president is like being a man’s nipple,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus spits out in the teaser, showing all of the comic timing that has nabbed her five consecutive Emmy awards, among many other prizes.
Set to debut in the US on April 16th, Veep will return to Irish screens on Sky Atlantic. Take a look at the trailer in full below:
