The Book Thief which opened in Ireland last Wednesday, is the incident-filled story of a book-loving child growing up in Germany during WWII. When her brother dies and her Communist mother goes into hiding, 11 years old Liesel
is left with middle aged foster parents (Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson) in the fictional town of Molching. The story then follows her attempts to establish a connection with her new mother and father who each react in a
different ways to her arrival- her relationship with a football-loving neighbour, her experiences of school, the family’s attempts to hide a Jewish teenager in a room under the stairs and her discovery of books which she steals from the home of the local mayor.

And Tim Story the director of Ride Along the buddy-cop action comedy that has been an enormous hit in the United States where it held the No 1 spot at the box office for three weeks.
