Historian Catriona Crowe of the National Archives explores what was happening in the lives of Irish people in the years leading up to the Easter Rising, from the growing Catholic middle-classes to tenement dwellers. She looks at where people lived, what their houses were like, and what they wore, ate, drank and did for entertainment, as well as examining the effect the Gallipoli campaign had - with injured soldiers clearly visible on the streets of Ireland by the end of 1915.
