Aquarius, Tuesday, Sky Atlantic, 9pm
Sam Hodiak a decorated World War II vet and homicide detective, barely recognizes the city he's now policing. Long hair, cheap drugs, rising crime, protests, free love, police brutality, Black Power and the Vietnam War are radically remaking the world he and the Greatest Generation saved from fascism 20 years ago.
So when Emma Karn (Emma Dumont, "Salvation," "Bunheads"), the 16-year-old daughter of an old girlfriend, goes missing in a sea of hippies and Hodiak agrees to find her, he faces only hostility, distrust and silence. He enlists the help of Brian Shafe (Grey Damon, "True Blood," "Friday Night Lights") - a young, idealistic undercover vice cop who's been allowed to grow his hair out - to infiltrate this new counterculture and find her.
Dolores Keane, A Storm in the Heart, Tuesday, RTE1, 9.35PM
The folk singer and actress shares the story of her life in his intimate documentary. Renowned for her deep and soulful vocal style, Dolores first came to prominence in 1975 as a member of De Dannann, before marrying singer-songwriter John Faulkner and embarking on a hugely successful solo career - which later became overshadowed by her battles with alcoholism, depression and breast cancer.
Are health tests really a good idea? Wednesday, BBC2, 8pm
Michael Mosley puts himself through a battery of health tests available to people who feel perfectly well. From an expensive heart scan to a new national screening procedure to detect the earliest signs of bowel cancer, Mosley sets out to discover which if any of the tests are worth doing.
Who do you think you are? Thursday, BBC1, 9pm
Series in which celebrities trace their ancestry, discovering secrets and surprises from their past.
Baker Paul Hollywood grew up very near his maternal grandparents and was particularly close to his grandfather, Norman Harman. The discovery of Norman's service medals sends Paul off on a journey to find out about his experiences in World War II, serving as an anti-aircraft gunner. Paul discovers that, having survived extraordinary danger in Tunisia, his grandfather found himself in the middle of an even more treacherous battle when he was sent to Italy as part of the Allied invasion force. Norman ended up stranded on the beaches at Anzio, surrounded by Germans - with nowhere to hide. Further up his tree, Paul also discovers stoic Scottish ancestry - and a very demanding job!
