Every Thursday on The Tom Dunne Show, we pick a cocktail that features in a classic movie and recreate it.
This week we're talking about the Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 American spy thriller, 'North By Northwest'.
Cary Grant plays Roger Thornhill, a sophisticated ad executive who is mistaken for a US agent by sinister foreign forces and framed for a murder he didn't commit. He's then chased across America in some dramatic film sequences, including the nightmarish crop-duster plane scene. Naturally, he has a classic Hitchcock blonde for company: Eva Marie Saint.
In a scene from the film, Thornhill orders the 'Gibson'. This drink is traditionally composed of Gin and Dry Vermouth, as in a traditional Martini, but with cocktail onions instead of olives.
Tonight, Oisin is away so Paul Malone from The Marker Hotel will be stepping in.
If you'd like to make Paul's Gibson, you'll find the list of ingredients below.
Tune in from 10pm when Paul will steer you through the method.
