This week Oisin Davis brings his own take on James Bond's Vodka Martini.
Oisin says, 'There's been heaps of articles popping up on my media feeds about Martinis. It can only mean one of two things. There's either a new Bond movie out or the World Health Organization has suddenly declared that Martinis give you cancer. Either story would create enough hype for this rather classic cocktail. In an ultimate product placement business deal, Belvedere Vodka have seemingly paid a lot of money to be Bond's vodka of choice for his shaken not stirred Martini in Spectre. But as I am such a devout locavore for Irish spirits I've decided to go with one made with a brand new Irish vodka, Kalak. It's rather moreish and I am a fan of stirring not shaking...don't hate me'.
The Kalak Martini
INGREDIENTS:
50 ml Kalak Irish Vodka
10 ml Lillet
a lemon twist
METHOD:
Chill a martini glass with some ice. Pour the vodka and Lillet into a shaker with some ice and stir for 20 seconds. Remove the ice from the glass and strain. Pull the lemon twist over the cocktail to release its oils. Serve.
