Oisin Davis is on the show tonight to make a cocktail from classic TV show, Cheers.

Oisin says, ‘If ever a tv show needed to be appreciated once again, it would have to be Cheers, and I'm not just saying that because it was set in a boozer. It had a solid cast, great scripts and it was proper funny. There is an episode where a cocky new bartender claims to know every cocktail in existence. The feisty barmaid Carla challenges him to a bet that during their next service, a customer will order a cocktail that he does not know. And if that happens, then he has to quit. That cocktail in question is the Screaming Viking. Variations of it have appeared everywhere since as homages to that particular show. This is the one that I like the best as it utilises some "bruised cucumber."

  • 50 ml Beefater Gin

  • 100 ml tonic water
  • 2 cucumber slices

  • 1 sprig of mint

Method:

Lightly bruise a cucumber slice in the bottom of your wine glass. Pour in the gin and top it up with tonic water. Garnish with the mint and cucumber.
