Tonight, Sean Maguire from The Liquor Rooms will be joining Tom to make a cocktail inspired by the upcoming release of Star Trek Beyond.
Sean says:
The ingredients are representative of both the old James T. Kirk and the new incarnation. We pay homage to Canadian William Shatner who solidified the character as a television and film icon, which we represent with a healthy dose of Canadian Club. With the recent reboot of the franchise we have Chris Pine, who delivers a fresh new performance to the role, represented by the pine forward spryness and the effervescence of our tonic water.
The name is taken from a cocktail that was served to Captain Kirk in the original series. After Kirk gets replaced by a new super-computer the good Doctor McCoy soothes Kirk’s bruised ego with his own special concoction: Finagle’s Folly, a cocktail which he brags is famous from “here to Orion.”
Ingredients:
- 50ml Canadian Club Whiskey
- 30ml Pine reduction
- 10ml Honeysuckle Syrup
- 15ml Lemon Juice
- 2 dashes Dandelion/ Burdock Bitters
- Poachers Rosemary and Orange Tonic Bitters
Method:
Mix all ingredients and serve over ice in tall glass. Top with Poachers Rosemary and Orange Tonic Bitters and garnish with pine sprig and lemon zest.
