The finest cocktail bars in all 32 counties on the island of Ireland are coming together in a few weeks time. The Irish Cocktail Fest is taking place from October 10 - 15 and any bar or restaurant can come on board for free by registering onwww.greatirishbeverages.com The whole point of the festival is to celebrate cocktails made with Irish spirits and drinks.
One such bar, is Camden Exchange on Camden Street in Dublin. They've put together a cocktail that is a twist on the classic Aviation, which was created by Hugo Enslinn in the Wallick Hotel. He put it into his 1916 book, "Recipes for Mixed Drinks."
Ingredients:
- 35ml Kalak Vodka
- 15ml Violette Liqueur
- 15ml Maraschino Liqueur
- 20ml Lemon Juice
Method:
Fill a coupé or martini glass with some ice. Place all ingredients into an iced shaker. Seal it and shake hard for 10 seconds. Remove ice from the glass and strain the cocktail. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Oisin will be making the cocktail live on the Tom Dunne Show, tonight from 10pm
