On this week's edition of El Filmio Reviewio, Oisin Davis brings with him a very interesting and unique take on the Margarita.
Oisin Says: Week 2 of #MargaritaMay and we're taking an Irish twist on things. Seasonal Wexford rhubarb mixed up with some rosemary from my garden. A funky bang of herb smacked down onto some tangy rhubarb shaken up with tequila and lime juice. A Celtic and Mexican summer in a glass!
INGREDIENTS:
- 50 ml Silver Patron
- 15 ml rhubarb cordial
- a sprig of rosemary
- 5 ml Kalak vodka
- 10 ml lime juice
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
METHOD: Make the rhubarb cordial by mixing 200 ml of boiling water with 200 g of sugar in a pot until its clear. Place 200 g of fresh rhubarb and let it sit for 2 hours. Strain it off.
Pour the rhubarb, vodka and lime into a shaker and place in the rosemary. Muddle it for 10 seconds to combine the flavours. Fill with ice, seal it and shake it hard for 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
Oisin will be making the cocktail live on the Tom Dunne Show, tonight from 10pm
