The sun is shining and it appears that the summer has finally crept up on us. Margaritas might not yet be on the Leaving Cert. curriculum as Tom would like to see, but they're most certainly on our drinks menu for the rest of the month.
Oisin Says: Let #MargaritaMay commence! This is the month that Tom has been waiting for - 4 glorious weeks of sipping on Margaritas every Thursday.
To kick things off, we're going with a listener's suggestion of featuring elder-flower, so here we go! The great thing about elder-flower is that it goes beautifully with citrus so this has a healthy dose of grapefruit juice to pair with it. Two fantastic ingredients to make a margarita even more summery.
INGREDIENTS:
- 50 ml Patron Silver
- 15 ml St Germain Elderflower liqueur
- 15 ml fresh pink grapefruit juice
- 5 ml lime juice
METHOD:
Chill a martini glass with some ice. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with some ice, seal it and shake it hard for 10 seconds. Remove the ice from the glass and strain the cocktail. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
Oisin will be making the cocktail live on the Tom Dunne Show, tonight from 10pm
