This week, Oisin Davis of Great Irish Beverages brings us another beer infused cocktail - the Witch's Brew.
Oisin says: "It’s week 3 of "Febrewary" and this time round I'm going a little off piste... We have been making cocktails made with beer, but as the fella said, there are plenty of ways of skinning a cat. For this drink, I get a nice IPA and cook it down it down and reduce it by about 75% and then I match whatever is left with caster sugar to make a rather nice beer infused syrup. This gets added to the very tasty and smooth Kalak Irish vodka to make the ‘Witches Brew’"
INGREDIENTS:
- 50ml Kalak Vodka
- 15ml Irish IPA - sweetened reduction
- 2 Dashes of orange bitters
- 1 dash of angostura bitters
METHOD:
Put a small pot on a high heat and pour in the IPA. Cook it out and reduce it by 75%. Measure whatever liquid is left and match it with caster sugar and stir til its combined. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with some ice. Stir for twenty seconds. Strain into an iced tumbler.Garnish with half an orange slice.
