Tonight's cocktail is an Irish take on the Gin and Tonic, with some of the finest ingredients from around the country...
Oisin Says:
We have a sports related theme for June and as you may guess, the game in question is not bowls or tiddlywinks. It's all about the Euro 2016 now and I'm picking a different drink from a different country each week. And I felt it would be quite apt to kick things off with Ireland!

There is going to be an all Ireland celebration of Irish spirits happening soon with the Irish Gin & Tonic Fest from June 20 - 25. Venue registration is free and can be done through www.greatirishbeverages.com. So I'm rolling out my favourite Irish gin, the Blackwater Distillery's Juniper cask aged gin with some Poacher's Irish Tonic water. With the gin from Waterford and the tonic from Wexford, this is the sunny south east in a glass.
INGREDIENTS:
- 50 ml Blackwater juniper cask aged gin
- 150 ml Poacher's orange and rosemary tonic water
- 1 sprig of rosemary
- 1 orange slice
METHOD:
Fill a large wine glass with some ice, pour in the gin followed by the tonic. Stir and then garnish with the orange and rosemary.
Oisin will be making the cocktail live on the Tom Dunne Show, tonight from 10pm
