We've made it to the last week of #AppleyApril and Oisin brings us an Irish twist on a simple drink that will be easy for us all to make at home.
Oisin says: "It's the final week of #AppleyApril and I reckoned I'd go out with something we'd all recognise. And one thing I always love doing is taking a drink in a different direction. That's why tonight I'm combining one of my favourite Irish whiskies with the equally Irish soft drink, Cidona.
The honeyed sweetness of the whiskey pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the Cidona. A quick wedge of lemon brings out the natural apple acidity of the drink. Anyone can try this drink! I like mine with a few drops of Angostura bitters - but that's very much optional".
INGREDIENTS
- 50 ml Jameson
- 150 ml Cidona
- 1 lemon wedge
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters (optional)
METHOD:
Pour the whiskey into a long glass along with the bitters, fill with ice. Pour in the cidona and squeeze in the wedge.
Oisin will be making the cocktail live on the Tom Dunne Show, tonight from 10pm
