"It was an insanely good start for them," says Donal Dineen of The Stars of Heaven's debut single 'Clothes of Pride'.
Dineen, well known for his former music programmes on Today FM and 2XM, and indeed currently for his column in the Irish Times, joined Tom Dunne on Thursday night to look at the catalogue of the '80s Dublin rockers.
"There is something about the 'Stars' in everything that they do that has some sort of quality that seems to me anyway to be their own...When you read about or talk to other people about them you very often hear people describe the obvious influences...Gram Parsons, the Byrds, maybe the Velvet Underground, but the progression from that point to 'Speak Slowly' was a band who really found their own voice," explains Dineen.
