As part of Scottish Week on the Tom Dunne Show, Gary Clark, of Danny Wilson fame, joined Tom on Tuesday evening's programme.
"I never really wanted to do anything else, I knew that music was my calling," said Clark.
The musician, although now living back in his native Scotland, had spent many years living in LA where he wrote songs for artists such as Demi Lovato and Natalie Imbruglia.
Mary's Prayer was Danny Wilson's major hit in the 1980s. Its success had a big impact on the band.
"It was pretty dramatic," explained Clark. "It really changed the dynamic quite a lot".
Interestingly, this success had good and bad consequences for Clark. He revealed during the interview that he used to experience stage fright and, in fact, didn't enjoy being in the spotlight.
