'I was sitting naked in a tree contemplating the cosmic joke on mushrooms, and had a moment of clarity.'
So says Josh Tillman - aka Father John Misty - of the moment he found the creative path that led to a second album under this alias: I Love You Honeybear.
A truthful story or tall tale? Who knows, but it's part of a colourful interview which was broadcast on The Tom Dunne Show on Tuesday night.
The ex Fleet Foxes drummer talked about everything from love and songwriting to the new Fifty Shades of Grey film.
He also spoke about another realisation he had had before making this new album. He said, "The main realisation I ended up having is that I am not a singer songwriter...that I'm a fucking human and that my identity and whatever else is not wrapped up in this enterprise of...this archetype of being a songwriter".
