Film director Julien Temple Joined Tom Dunne on Monday night to discuss his latest film 'The Strypes: Best Thing Since Cavan'.
His attention first turned towards the young Cavan band when he went to see them perform.
"I went along and saw them and, like anyone else who goes to see them live, you couldn't believe how good they were, as well as how young they were. The live impact of these guys is still fantastic" he explained.
Temple found the group to be unique in their approach.
"To me they were reinventing the music," he said. "It was one thing to see Dr. Feelgood do it in '74, and this was another century's take on it. I just loved the way they played together. That to me is what a great band is, how they play off each other".
