Each Thursday, Oisin Davis, of Great Irish Beverages, joins Tom Dunne to create a special cocktail.
Oisin says, “January delivers a bizarre annual torture that's known as abstinence. Many of us will try and offset that seasonal guilt by exercising and quitting the drink. But there are less extreme alternatives! Beers, wines and even my beloved cocktails, can often be laced with sugar, which isn't the healthiest of ingredients. So why not drink low sugar cocktails in January? This one here is fresh, zingy and has a little spice in the background. Guilt free drinking people, well, as guilt free as possible anyway”.
The Cocktail: ‘Clean Collins’
50 ml of Beefeater 24 gin
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
The juice of half a lime
Sparkling water
Method
Pour the gin, bitters and lime juice into a long glass and then top it up with ice. Pour in the sparkling water and then stir it all up with a straw. Garnish with plenty of fresh limes.
