It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well technically it is but we all know that it can get more than a little stressful trying to plan your TV schedule over the next few days.
First of all, we would probably suggest utilising your recording features to the full potential as there are quite a few shows on at the same time that are definitely worth a watch.

1. Sports Quiz of the Year, RTÉ One, 6.30pm

She'll be taking a look back at the best moments from 2015 and beyond, putting some of the biggest names in Irish sport to the ultimate test.
2. Alan Carr's New Year Specstacular, Channel 4, 9pm
Alan Carr has really grown on us this last year so his New Year's Eve spectacular which will most certainly feature quite an amount of alcohol will be pretty entertaining. His special guests are Danny Dyer, Mel B, Greg Davies, Kelly Brook, Ellie Goulding and the Vamps.
3. The Graham Norton Show, BBC One, 10.45pm
And if you don't have enough of the chat shows for the evening, switch over to BBC in order to check out Graham's panel of Jennifer Lawrence, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.

4. Jool's Annual Hootenanny, BBC Two, 11.10pm
This is always a New Year's favourite and it's easy to understand why. The BBC's favourite musical host will ring in the New Year with some of the best musical talent. It's always great.

5. The Rubberbandits Guide to 1916, RTÉ 2, 11pm
It's the centenary of 1916 and who would the president ask to tell the story of our great nation? The Rubberbandits, of course. Join the boys as they crash through Irish history from Brian Boru, through the Famine and right up to Irish independence, with the help of the trout of no craic, Willie O'DJ, some lads from the local takeaway and a goat. It’s like real history, but interesting.
