Roxy Music Week continued on Tuesday night as Simon Reynolds, acclaimed music journalist and author, joined Tom Dunne to cast a light on the significance of the band.
"They're an amazing band, musically, in terms of style and the whole way they presented their music...it takes you on a journey," said Reynolds.
Along with other contemporaries such as David Bowie, Roxy Music made an enormous impact on the adopted style of bands.
"They were one of the groups that made glamour and decadence very fashionable and hip in the seventies," explained the British writer.
However, Reynolds is adamant that the band's real influence wasn't felt until the '80s.
"They were the prime inspiration for the New Romantic movement and all those sort of very glamorous, gender-bending groups of the early '80s like Culture Club, and Duran Duran were obsessed with Roxy Music," he said.
