Sinead O'Connor joined Tom Dunne on Monday evening ahead of her Vicar Street performance on Wednesday.

The singer discussed her favourite songs to listen to before going on stage, the music that inspires her to get into the right zone.

"Once I hear the first note of the first song then I know it's gig time," she explained.

Among the tracks that O'Connor selected during the interview were Give Thanks and Praises by Bob Marley, Louise by Howlin' Wolf and Domino by Van Morrison.

O'Connor's latest album is I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss

"It may sound kind of corny but I want to be a priest as a musician, so my set of prayers that go along with these records before gigs, that's what I'll get to acheive at the end of the day, that I will have been a priest...and this record is a declaration of priesthood," she said.
