One of the seminal voices of the past few decades, Kate Pierson, joined Tom Dunne on Tuesday night's programme. Pierson, best known for her work with the B-52's, has recently released her first solo album, Guitars and Microphones.
"This was somehting I wanted to do all my life and I'd written all these songs before but never got them out to the world...I almost have enough for another record," she explained.
Pierson, now 66, co-wrote the new album with Sia Furler.
"Every time we went to write a song it was a sort of magical happening when you bring people together. When I went with Sia we went with different people that she wrote with so...it was like cooking: every time it would be something different".
