Tonight's cocktail of choice on the Tom Dunne Show is 'The Kitchener'.

Our resident mixologist, Oisin Davis of the Damson Diner, says: "If you think about iconic images relating to WW1, the one that stands out for me is of the 'gung ho' looking British soldier who, with a massive moustache, is pointing straight at you and says:’YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU’. It was the primary recruitment poster for the British and the man on it was the Secretary of War, Horatio Herbert Kitchener. Before he held that position he had seen bloody victories and political success in Sudan and India. His reputation for wanting greater power and success was well known so it should come as no surprise that he put himself forward as a figure to represent the very essence of his empire's pride. Such was his fame, that over on the other side of the Atlantic, a bartender named Louis Senor in New York named a cocktail after him in 1914".
