Coming up on the show tonight, it's Richie McCormack in for Tom, and we have a great show lined up for you this Bank Holiday Sunday.
First up, Jenn Gannon joins Richie to take us through the past week in music: The dust is still settling after the death or Prince; Beyonce surprise-dropped her new album 'Lemonade' to a plethora of speculative gossip; and Radiohead posted mysterious leaflets to fans, meanwhile starting to erase their internet presence.
In the second hour of the show, Richie will be joined by music journalist and author Steven Hyden to talk about his new book - ‘Your Favorite Band Is Killing Me: What Pop Music Rivalries Reveal about the Meaning of Life’.
The book delves deep into the driving forces behind some of the biggest rivalries in music over the past 50 years. From The Beatles V the Stones to Oasis V Blur, Pearl Jam and Nirvana, Prince and Jackson, there's something in it for all music fans to sink their teeth into, and Richie will be exploring some of these contentions in his selection of songs throughout the night.
‘Your Favorite Band Is Killing Me: What Pop Music Rivalries Reveal about the Meaning of Life’ will be available in bookstores from May 17th.
