Coming up on the show tonight, Tom will be joined by XTC frontman Andy Partridge, who’s just released ‘Complicated Game: Inside The Songs Of XTC’. The book compiles a selection of 30 interviews with his friend Todd Bernhardt, taking a look at the process behind the creation of some of his greatest songs.
We'll also be paying tribute to Northern Irish songwriter and guitar virtuoso Henry McCullough who died this morning at the age of 72, four years after suffering a heart attack which left him paralyzed. McCullough's career spanned over 6 decades, playing as a member of bands such as Wings, Sweeneys Men and Joe Cockers Grease Men, as well as alongside The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Pink Floyd - to name but a few. Tom will be speaking to founding member and drummer of Wings, Denny Seiwell about his friendship with Henry over the past 50 years.
On this week's show, we're also celebrating the life and music of Paul McCartney, who turns 74 on Saturday. He's just released 'Pure McCartney', a compilation of his personal playlist of songs from his solo career, and we'll be giving away copies throughout the week - so tune in to find out how you can win yourself one of those.
