Coming up on tonight's show, comedian and author Max Dickins will be joining Tom for this week's comedy slot. He’s just written a book called ‘My Groupon Adventure’, all about the hilarious endeavors of an 18 month stint in which he partook in a new Groupon deal every week. It's what he calls 'spontaneity for beginners'.
Lately, we’ve been covering some important movements in music over the past half century: Punk, Prog rock, Paisley Underground, Shoegaze, but one scene we haven’t quite touched upon yet is an important link in the chain - the psychedelic revival of the early 1980’s.
Well the good news is that a compilation album on the genre has just been released. It’s called ‘Another Splash of Colour - New Psychedelia in Britain 1980 - 1985’.
In the second hour, Tom will be joined by a Tony Conway, former guitarist of Mood Six - to talk about the inception of the style that drew upon 60's psychedelia and united such bands as High Tide, Miles Over Matter, The Barracudas, The Times and more.
We'll also be announcing the winners of our competition to win Bob Dylan's Fallen Angels last night, as well as playing some more tracks from his incendiary catalogue.
