On tonight's show Tom is joined by Brian McMahon, author of a new book entitled Brand New Retro. Inspired by a treasure trove of old photos and ads he found in his family home, for the past number of years he has been digitising Irish pop cultural material on his blog, brandnewretro.ie. The book is an eyeopening compendium of life as a teenager and adult through the '60s, '70s and '80s. From the agony aunt letters in Woman's Own to Phil Lynott's brief modelling career, the book is a fascinating exploration of Irish life. 

In hour two singer songwriter Lissie drops in to studio for a session, to mark her new album My Wild West, which is officially out in February 2016.
