Under the Dutch man United secured their 17th straight home win today thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, a fact that is no stroke of luck according to Irish football legend Brian Kerr.
“He’s obviously a very talented manager” he says.
“He’s had a major impact in improving those players who were out of form like Marcus Rashford…all of these players look substantially better than they did last year.
“Erik ten Hag has shown he’s a manager of substance.”
His “tough cookie” exterior along with his regimented manner paints the former Ajax boss as someone who “takes no messing” according to Kerr.
“He looks like a fella that mightn’t say an awful lot, but he’s very clear in what he does say” Kerry explains.
“You can see by that and by his body language that he’s not going to take any messing or any disruption of the team’s focus or players doing their own thing.
They play for the team, they do what they’re told or else they don’t play the next match.”
Such changes Kerr continued have made “Manchester United fans happier than they have been in a long time”, but could they go the full way this season and compete for the Premier League?
"They're in with a shout now...it'll be a very interesting finish because of their improvement" Kerr says.
