A man has been charged in connection to the death of Annie Heyneman. 

The man, who is in his 30s, will appear before Monaghan District Court this morning.

On Saturday, Gardaí found the body of Ms Heyneman in her home in Kilnavert, close to Ballyconnell in County Cavan. 

She was pronounced dead at the scene and a seriously injured man, Henk Heyneman, who is in his 60s, was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Gardaí have asked for anyone who was travelling in the Kilnavert area on Saturday night to contact them.
