There are concerns today that the Electric Picnic festival may not go ahead this year.
The company behind the festival, EP Republic Limited has yet to announce a line-up or the sale of any 'Early Bird' tickets.
It suffered combined losses of over €2 million for the 2010 and 2011 festivals.

The festival's organisers are understood to be hopeful about running the event but may face a difficult task in securing headline acts with new festivals including Longitude and a number of high-profile standalone concerts scheduled for the summer.
