Festivities will kick off at 5 PM on Friday evening with the two young English brothers Hudson Taylor. He’ll be followed by Miles Kane, hip-hop outfit Wu-Tang Clan and the iconic shoegazers of My Bloody Valentine. Headliner Fatboy Slim will take to the stage at 10 PM for a 90 minute set.
Revellers can expect to be partying into the small hours on Saturday, as English electronic duo Disclosure will be performing well into the wee hours (as well as the inevitable smaller late-night gigs around the site). They’ll be following headliners Two Door Cinema Club and Bjork.
If you’re a tad exhausted after a late night on Saturday, Sunday morning’s performance from Dublin Gospel Choir could be just the ticket. Arctic Monkeys will wrap things up that night, featuring sets from Franz Ferdinand, Eels, Kodaline and others.
Full details for the other stages - due to host artists such as Giorgio Moroder, Johnny Marr, The Knife and David Byrne & St. Vincet - have yet to be announced.
And don't forget: Futureproof, Newstalk’s award-winning science show, will be doing a live show from the Picnic. It will be an hour of live Science Comedy Improv with Dermot Whelan, Maria of Twisted Doodles and Billy Bragg. It's all taking place at The Science Gallery tent on Saturday the 31st at 4pm, and it promises to be enlightening.
