The M7 is the main road recommended for anyone driving to Stadbally. For those heading Southbound (Dublin etc…), take exit 16 (Ballydavis Interchange), head towards Broomfield Roundabout (R425) and follow signs to the event. Northbound traffic should exit at Junction 17, and follow the Abbeyleix Road to Meelick Junction. From there, take Meelick Road, take a right onto Timahoe Road and another right to Sheffield. Here, cars & coaches will join the Soutbound / Broomfield traffic.

Anyone travelling from the direction of Cork is advised to take the M8, exit at Junction 3 and follow signs via Ballacolla, Abbeyleix and Ballyroan.

There will also be a relief road operating for traffic to and from Portlaoise.

The camper van area will be open from 4 PM on Thursday, while the main car parks will be open from 9 AM on Friday. However, Sunday ticket holders should note that their dedicated car park (car park Z, also the taxi drop-off area) will be on the N80 Portlaoise Road. Car parking is free for the weekend.

Bus Eireann will be operating services from Custom House Quay to Stadbally on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Return services will run on Saturday and Sunday nights and Monday morning (last buses depart at 1:30 PM). Tickets are €29 return or €15 single. Tickets for Bus Eireann are no longer available online, but a limited amount will remain available at the 'ticket bus' on Custom Quay each day.

Marathon Coaches are also operating a bus from the city to the concert venue. Full details and tickets are available on their site.

Kelly Travel will be offering coach services from Tipperary, Limerick, Galway and Cork. Details are available here.

Concert goers can also avail of any standard Irish Rail services to Portlaoise. A shuttle bus will be running from the train station to the concert site every half hour, and will cost €5. Check out the Irish Rail website for train ticket prices and travel times.

If you’re feeling particularly healthy or energetic, there’s a ‘Tour de Picnic’ being organised for those interested in partially running (10 km) or cycling (80 km) to the Picnic. Check out Give2Go for information.

This post will be updated with any further details or travel restrictions throughout the week.

More details are available from the Electric Picnic and Garda websites.

Futureproof, Newstalk’s award-winning science show, will be doing a live show from the Picnic. It will be an hour of live Science Comedy Improv with Dermot Whelan, Maria of Twisted Doodles and Billy Bragg. It's all taking place at The Science Gallery tent on Saturday the 31st at 4pm, and it promises to be enlightening.
