After a successful show at last year’s festival, and critically acclaimed international efforts since, acclaimed burlesque / circus act Briefs are returning to Dublin for their latest show The Second Coming. It should prove to be a very memorable spectacle.
The Brisbane troupe’s Facebook page describes them as “all male sharp shootin cabaret of burlesque with balls, high-flying circus bandits & savage gender offenders. Briefs slams 2getha a riotous evening of intoxicating physicality, unexpected stumbles, gob-smacking comedy & ridiculous showmanship”. Yes, it's not your average night in Vicar Street.
The new show has already won raves after a successful UK tour last month, culminating in an Edinburgh Fringe run. Time Out gave Second Coming a five-star review, declaring “no one else does enormous, gloriously perverted fun quite like this”, while Wales Online explains “within moments… all inhibitions were swept aside and the zany, racy, fun packed show swept the audience away”.
Feedback from the first Irish show is extremely positive:
Briefs rocked Vicar St. If ur looking for an entertaining, camp, hysterical and bombastic night out with your mates -that's it. #dubfringe

Briefs will be taking over Vicar Street every night between now and Wednesday 11th . Tickets are €28. It’s over 18s, and audiences can expect nudity and some colourful language as well as the stunts, jokes and a giddy 'anything goes' attitude. Comedian Eleanor Tiernan is offering support.
