Crispin Glover
Crispin Glover is a multi-talented fellow - acting, writing and directing a wide variety of work (as well as writing books on the side). But he’ll always be best known as George McFly from the Back to the Future trilogy. His masterpiece, though, is Clowny Clown Clown, a nightmarishly surreal and eccentric song from his album The Big Problem ≠ The Solution. The Solution = Let It Be (yes, that is its full title). There are really very few words to do it justice:
Steven Seagal
Seagal - action star and real-life police officer - hasn’t enjoyed the most critically acclaimed cinematic career of all time. His almost always cheesy action films mean few film fans take him seriously as an actor (not that we’d ever say that to his face, mind you). But it’s particularly challenging to marry his tough guy persona with his musical career, which - among other songs - gave us this sentimental little number. Who'd have thought Mr. Seagal was capable of genuinely pouring his heart out?
Billy Bob Thornton
Another all-rounder - in all the publicity surrounding his whirlwind marriage with Angelina Jolie, it was sometimes hard to remember he won an Academy Award for his Sling Blade screenplay. Although not as regular a fixture on big screens as he was ten years ago, Billy Bob is still working away, including his work with band The Boxmasters. Few people would have even known the band existed if it wasn’t for an infamous radio interview in Canada, which is easily one of the most cringeworthy pieces of live broadcasting you’ll ever have the (dis)pleasure to watch.
Jada Pinkett Smith
While her husband (a certain former Fresh Prince) went from recording artist to actor, Jada Pinkett Smith took the opposite course. After establishing her acting career with films like Menace II Society, The Nutty Professor and The Matrix sequels, she made the jump to music in 2002 by founding Wicked Wisdom (later Wicked Evolution). Their musical genre of choice? Bizarrely enough, nu-metal.
Bruce Willis
We don’t care what anyone says: the man plays some amazing harmonica.
